External audits move at the pace of your exports. When files arrive incomplete or labelled inconsistently, analysts spend the first week reconstructing basics instead of reading performance.
Export a full settlement window of at least six months per market. Include order identifiers, SKU codes, quantities, list prices, discounts, fees, and settlement currency. Keep raw files; do not pre-aggregate into pivots that hide line detail.
Name files with market, channel, and date range in the filename. A folder of "final_v3_really.csv" wastes time. If advertising sits in a separate system, export the same date window and include campaign names that map to markets.
Add a one-page glossary of your internal SKU prefixes and any bundle codes. Advisors should not guess whether "SET-A" is a multipack or a promotional label.
Finally, note known data gaps in writing: a month when a marketplace changed fee reporting, a period of missing advertising data, or a storefront you closed. Honest gaps are easier to work around than silent holes that distort conclusions.
